BUSINESS FIELD TRIPS
Business Field Trips gives members a look behind-the-scenes at local businesses while providing educational experiences and entertaining hands-on experiences. The bi-annual field trips help to drive traffic into local businesses.
There is no charge to attend these events. Contact Matt Baird with questions or to submit potential trip ideas.
YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
Chamber Young Professionals is open to members between the ages of 21–35. Members develop and engage the next generation of leaders through professional and personal development, civic involvement, and community service.
LEADERSHIP LEE’S SUMMIT
Established in 1991 by the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce and MCC-Longview, Leadership Lee’s Summit was developed to motivate the visionary leaders of the area. Participants acquire knowledge and skills to become great leaders in the community through this intensive nine-month program.
The Chamber selects 30 participants per year using strict criteria, including:
- Motivation and interest to serve in Lee’s Summit.
- Potential or existing opportunities for advancement to top leadership positions.
- Willingness to commit time and energy to complete the program.
- Full support of the corporation/organization that is represented.
Participants attend day-long sessions throughout the year focused on leadership skills, business and government issues, and the history and culture of Lee’s Summit.
Leadership Lee’s Summit aims to bolster the participants’ confidence, knowledge, leadership, and interpersonal skills so they can become distinguished members of the community. Meetings for Leadership Lee’s Summit take place from September through May on the second Tuesday of every month. Graduation takes place in May.
LEADS GROUPS
Those who join a CLG multiply their exposure by helping fellow CLG members become informed about their company so that when the opportunity presents itself, CLG members can promote each other.
Contact Lisa Frogge at (816) 524-2424 with any questions about the rules or submit your Leads Group Application Form here.
MENTORING PROGRAM
Members are required to attend two events during their first 90 days of membership. A minimum of one personal meeting between the mentor and the new member is required. The 90-day mentoring program will conclude with mentees and mentors sharing their experiences.
Contact Lisa Frogge to become a mentor or for more information.
RECESS FOR SUCCESS
Throughout the year, Recess for Success, the Chamber’s Professional Development Series, is held the first Tuesday of each month from 4–5 pm. The Business Development Council schedules these cutting-edge seminars with highly experienced experts in their respective fields. Seminars are determined based on the annual Member Educational Survey.
There is no charge to attend these events. Contact Matt Baird with questions or to submit potential topics or speakers.
