Why are you a Chamber member?

Responses to this question can be as diverse as our Lee’s Summit Chamber membership, but there are likely several common themes, one of which is that someone invited you to a meeting – or that you thought it would help with networking. While those are logical and ‘enjoyable’ answers, they shouldn’t be our only answers.

Chamber membership is an investment, and in order to reap the best return on that investment, as members we need to be intentional and strategic about how we monitor that investment.

As business owners, we hope for exponential growth and success, coupled with financial stability. While hope is a crucial element of the equation, intentionality and strategic planning must also factor in, and that’s also the case with your Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce membership.

So here’s the better question – are you being intentional and strategic about engaging with Chamber events, committees and activities?

Like a Swiss Army knife, your Chamber membership will help you problem-solve myriad challenges and build long-lasting relationships, but you have to remember to use it!

We tend to be creatures of habit, so as you enter into this new year (or even if you’re reading this mid-year) I encourage you to establish at least one new Chamber-related habit.

Commit to visit the Chamber’s website – or pick up the phone and talk with one of the awesome Chamber employees – to learn more about where your time and talent can be maximized.

With more than 300 Chamber-hosted events annually, there’s literally something for everyone. I guarantee it!
